VISUAL ARTIST, PHOTOGRAPHER, AND FILMMAKER. YOGINI AND CANDLE CRAFTER.

Camila Muradas is a Brazilian-American self-taught visual artist, born in New Jersey, and raised in Brasília, with an academic background in Visual Programming (Industrial Design), and shaped by extended periods living abroad, including Seoul, South Korea (2018–2025). Currently semi-nomadic, maintaining a close connection between South Korea and New York.

Her work is dedicated to paradoxes and investigates themes of death, entropy, and emptiness, grounded in what is raw, minimal, and honest. Camila began her intentional creative journey in 2011 alongside her studies in Design and personal development in yoga and meditation. Movement and breath became essential tools for grounding and contemplation, shaping both her life, work, and vision.

Raised in Brasília, surrounded by the contrast between brutalist architecture and nature, Camila is fascinated by the conversations between warm grey concrete, old brown from ground dust, and different human skin tones.

“Every year, the district would violently burn during the dry season. We would see wildfires spreading across the horizon. Yet, the cerrado trees would blossom beautifully each time, rising from the ashes, in between the ground, concrete and sky.”

Through photography, film, painting, crafts, and performance, Camila explores coexistence rather than resolution. Her practice also includes Shibari, the art of emotional rope tying, as a study of intimacy and paradox: seduction and restraint, dominance and surrender, pain and pleasure.

Meditation informs her approach with a balance of discipline and intuition, sustaining curiosity and reflection amid complexity and change.
